- it should be very user friendly, we are playing golf not trying to program a website
- course maps should come preloaded and free or have a 1 time low price fee
- it should be lightweight and easy to carry around
- the reciever should always have pin point distances and exact positions
- needs to be water proof, you never know when it going to rain or your going to land in a water hazard
- battery should last an entire round, whats the point if it goes dead on the 9th hole

Pay Per Course ? Not With The Callaway Upro Go
The Callaway Upro Go GPS comes preloaded with 18,000 courses across the United States and Canada ready for play. Along with the preloaded courses the Upro Go is perfect for going into your own home putting green just to get a feel for the device. I have not heard of any other golf gps doing this. So you do not have to spend any more money downloading extra courses.
There are no anual fees associated with the Upro Go. Once you purchase it, turn it on and your are ready for play.
There is only a 1 small time fee if you want to opt for the advanced "Go Mode" which is well worth the investment but not necessary.
Basic Mode Vs. Go Mode
Basic mode is availabe at no additional cost. With basic mode you will get the standard hazard view and green view modes. Hazard view provides the distance to each hazard and green view does the same when targeting the greens of each course. Each view is very easy to understand in clear easy to read numbers.
Go mode is availabe at a 1 time activation fee and provides you with the Virtual View mode. With virtual view you get the option where the distances to each hole are updated as you move around the course. You also get the ability to measure to any spot on the course with Go Mode.
GO MODE
Go mode really is worth the $50.00 dollar investment, it adds so many great features to an already great product. When I switched from Basic mode to Go mode I lowered my score by 2 strokes on avergae.
GO MODE BASICMODE
The Upro Go has the best reciever so you will always have pin point accuracy down to the actual yardage. As you move around the golf course, the Upro Go will stay locked in your position adjusting as needed as you move along the course if you opt for "Go Mode". You also have the option to manually pin point a location your are shooting for and get the exact distance down to the exact yardage for that location.
You location will always stay locked in, you will never have to worry about losing a signal or have any interruptions. A couple of weeks ago we our day started off sunny, at around the 4th hole dark clouds covered the sky as if it was going to rain. It never rained but the clouds never left. So we were almost playing in the dark the clouds were so thick. Let me tell you the Upro Go never lost its location or signal. Even if you are playing under a tree, in a hazard, or putting the Upro Go in your pocket it will always keep its signal giving you accurate distances and yardage with no delay.

The Callaway Upro Go is designed for use in direct sunlight. It utilizes a transflective screen, which means that it uses the sunlight to illuminate the screen.
If you are looking for a screen that is crisp, clear, and vivid then the Upro Go is just what you are looking for. The greens and surrounding areas are very detailed. It will deliver you precise distances from the front, center, and back of the greens and like is said previously the distances will update automatically as you move about the hole. You will not find high resolution images like these with any other golf gps.
Pass By Hazards With Ease
Each hazard is professionally mapped out by Calloway employees. Use their hard work to take all the guess work out of your next shot and never hit another hazard again. The Upro Go will help you gain the accuracy that you have been looking for.
Each hazard is shown on the vivid screen with a easy to understand graphic listed in order on each course. The rendering is very accurate view of the size and shape down to the exact yardage.
Each hazard is pin pointed on the GPS enabling you to view the distance to the front of each hazard listed in order.
Never Have To Worry About the Upro Go Going Dead On The 18th Hole !
We have never had a problem with the battery going dead as long as we charged it the night before left. It always last the entire game and after we are finish it still has about 20% battery remaining.
The manual states that you will get 10 to 12 hours of battery life using the Upro Go. Well I am going to let you in a little secret to get even more battery life out of your Upro go.
Turn down the backlight to 0% while playing on a sunny day and you will barely notice any bettery being used at all. With that little change you will almost double your battery life. Also the Upro go will go to sleep after a couple of minutes of not being used saving you even more battery life.

There are couple of accessories that we didn't purchase right away that we now use. These are not necessary but will only further to enhance your golfing experience.
- Upro Soft Case for $21.95 - You can get a cheaper one used from Amazon.com
- Upro Replacement Battery for $21.95 - A replacement battery is not needed but, as you already know. There is not time frame on a golf match. In the unlikely event that your battery happens to go dead just pull out your replacement battery. It has happened to us on occasion, but not very often.
Does It Include A Warranty ?
The Callaway Upro Go comes with a 6 month limited warranty.
